1. Data Controller
In accordance with the Law on Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 ("KVKK"), we, as Kestel Municipality, in the capacity of data controller, may process, record, store, classify, update and disclose/transfer your personal data to third parties where permitted by legislation, within the scope of the purposes explained below, in compliance with the law and rules of honesty.
2. Purpose of Processing Personal Data
Your personal data collected by our Municipality;
- To ensure our citizens benefit from public services offered by our Municipality in the best way,
- Fulfillment of legal obligations,
- Evaluation and resolution of citizen complaints, requests, and suggestions,
- Execution of cultural, social, and educational activities,
- Realization of zoning, licensing, declaration, tax, and similar municipal operations,
- Ensuring corporate communication and making event announcements
will be processed within the personal data processing conditions and purposes specified in Articles 5 and 6 of Law No. 6698 for these purposes.
3. To Whom and For What Purpose Processed Personal Data May Be Transferred
Your collected personal data may be transferred to legally authorized public institutions and organizations, judicial authorities, persons or organizations permitted by relevant legislative provisions, suppliers from whom we receive services, and our business partners within the framework of the personal data processing conditions and purposes specified in Articles 8 and 9 of Law No. 6698, in line with the realization of the purposes specified above.
4. Method and Legal Reason for Collecting Personal Data
Your personal data is collected orally, in writing, or electronically through our Municipality service buildings, website, mobile applications, call center, social media channels, and similar means. These data are collected based on legal reasons such as the execution of public services pursuant to Municipality Law No. 5393 and other relevant legislation, performance of the contract, being stipulated in laws, and the legitimate interest of the data controller.
5. Rights of the Personal Data Owner
Pursuant to Article 11 of Law No. 6698, data owners have the right to;
- Learn whether personal data is processed,
- Request information if personal data has been processed,
- Learn the purpose of processing personal data and whether they are used in accordance with their purpose,
- Know the third parties to whom personal data is transferred domestically or abroad,
- Request correction of personal data in case of incomplete or incorrect processing,
- Request deletion or destruction of personal data within the framework of the conditions stipulated in Article 7 of the Law,
- Object to the occurrence of a result against the person himself/herself by analyzing the processed data exclusively through automated systems,
- Request compensation for the damage in case of loss due to unlawful processing of personal data
To exercise these rights, you may apply to our Municipality in writing or by other methods determined in the legislation.
